Isaiah 41:8 “…The descendants of Abraham My friend”
God really called Abraham HIS FRIEND! What was Abraham’s claim to fame? “He believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness.” (Gen 15:6) Is that not what we as Christians do? We believe God (that He sent His Son to die on a Cross for our sins) and it is accounted to us as righteousness (we are saved).
We are FRIENDS of God too! How awesome is that?
If we had a friend that was famous in the secular world, a Lebron James, Peyton Manning, Taylor Lautner (that’s for my youth group), would we not be stoked about it? But how often would they mention US as THEIR friend? Sure we would say “that’s MY friend”…but what about GOD? The Creator of the Universe says “that’s MY friend” when He thinks about you, and you’re always on His mind.
Christian, you have a friend in Jesus! Just let that sit in your head for a while..it will blow your mind!
